During the 29th edition of the Cinéatan Rencontres Festival in Toulouse, which took place from March 17 to 26, 2017, and as every year, it explores Latin American cinema in all its richness and diversity with a selection of recent films. 3 projects with the 2.35 Digital color stamp took the honors of each of its categories:
GREAT PRIZE OF FALLING
“Los Nadie” by Juan Sebastián Mesa
With a proposal that reflects the rebellious youth of Medellín, in search of breaking the stigma of narco to dream of traveling and disconnect from the traditional system, to the rhythm of strident guitars, with tattoos and piercings. Juan Sebastián Mesa debuted with a feature film in which non-professional actors participate to narrate the dream of the communes of young jugglers in Medellín, moving away that stereotype of a city marked by drug trafficking to travel through South America.
FIPRESCI PRIZE (From the International Federation of Press Film)
“Relative” of Iván Gaona
The film highlights the life in a rural locality stigmatized by the violence of the historical armed conflict that affected the country for more than 50 years.
SIGNIS DOCUMENTARY AWARD
“The pact of Adriana” by Lisette Orozco
The tape deals with the case of Adriana Rivas, who was a member of the Lautaro Brigade and worked as personal secretary to General Manuel Contreras, former head of the National Intelligence Directorate (DINA) during the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet (1973-1990) . Particularly noteworthy is the fact that director Orozco is the niece of Rivas, the protagonist of the story.
We congratulate these three finished projects and colorized in the laboratories of 2.35 Digital.
