The city is facing a critical moment, as it hasn't rained in months and the supply of drinking water is virtually nonexistent for most of its inhabitants. The Cali River is completely contaminated, and its murky water is impossible to consume. The Cauca River has nearly lost all its flow, and along its banks, there is a major social crisis due to the large settlement of residents with very limited resources who have been deprived of true opportunities for a dignified life.
